The geef honored Power Grid Corporation of India Limited with prestigious "Global HSE Team of the Year 2025" in Power (Transmission) Sector with a trophy and citation for their exceptional contributions to Environmental Beliefs, Values and Action in their practices on 12th February 2025 at JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, India.
PowerGrid, India’s leading power transmission utility, has consistently demonstrated excellence in safety, sustainability, and innovation.
Achievements include following:
• Achieved 411 and 258 Safe Days without any Lost Time Injury in ‘Operation & Maintenance’ and ‘Construction’ of Transmission System respectively, maintaining 1,78,975 ckms, 280 substations, 99.80% system availability, and 5,45,961 MVA of transformation capacity for O&M, and overseeing 23 substations, 76 transmission lines, around 20,457 circuit kilometers, and more than 200 ongoing construction projects with over 8,000 on-roll employees and 30,000 contract workers during the above period.
• More than 23,000 of training sessions delivered across all regions in POWERGRID.
• More than 4,500 mock drills conducted on different topics / scenario such as Fire, Electrocution, Earthquake, Fall From height, Emergency evacuation, Snake bite/Animal attack etc. across all regions in POWERGRID.
• Around 1,56,000 safety briefings in 2024-25 in O&M and Construction works across all regions in POWERGRID.
• Overall Average Safe Working hours increased from 8.3 Million (2022-23) to 14.2 Million Man-hours (2023-24) and Lost-time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) reduced from 0.12 (2022-23) to 0.07 (2023-24).
• Distribution of Safety Kits (other than PPE kit) among the contract workers for motivation to follow safety measures during execution of works..
